Recommendations of the Argentine Society of Rheumatology for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
Autores: Darío Scublinsky
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease with a prevalence of approximately 1% worldwide. Treatment for this condition, which typically led to early disability and premature mortality, has changed over the past two decades, both with the advent of new medications and innovative therapeutic strategies. This has dramatically altered the course of this disease. The first Clinical Practice Guidelines for the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) from the Argentine Society of Rheumatology (SAR) were published in 2004, followed by two updates in 2008 and 2013, all in this journal.
